The creative teams of Observatory Agency and Scout Productions knew they had something special, but needed help turning the hours and hours of raw footage into a entertaining and educational series. On a tight timeline, Cut Print Lock dove in, immediately conceptualizing and creating the opening title sequence and show intro to set the show’s unique and unexpected tone.
The CPL team worked directly with Director Alex Richanbach (Netflix’s Ibiza) and Vanessa to write the voiceover and choose music that puts the audience in the head of our hero.

A comedy/travel series hybrid starring the hilarious Vanessa Bayer (SNL, Trainwreck)?
We were already sold.
When Cut Print Lock got the call, the crew had already filmed Vanessa working for a week on a family-owned dairy farm in upstate New York. By milking cows and shoveling manure and other farmer stuff, the Saturday Night Live alum learned about the challenges and changes shaping one of America’s longest-running professions.

Another challenge presented itself.
The creative team landed high profile experts to teach Vanessa about the future of sustainable dairy farming, but these educational moments needed to feel as fun and engaging as Vanessa driving a tractor for the first time.
THE SOLUTION?
In addition to licensing great b-roll and stock footage, we created custom motion graphics to illustrate the educational moments. Conceptually, the idea was to give a scrapbook feel, like Vanessa was piecing together the academic ideas and repackaging them in a fun, accessible way.
Again, the creative team and client were thrilled.
In fact, everyone was so happy with our work on this series, that Cut Print Lock was hired to create the commercial spots and promos for the series.
